A portion of the renovated Beacon Hall houses the college’s Nursing and EMS/Paramedic programs. The new nursing suite provides state-of-the-art facilities that offer authentic learning experiences in a setting that emulates a hospital wing. Health sciences labs include nursing and EMS skills labs and simulation labs as well as a nurses’ station.
Beacon Hall is also home to new natural science labs and a “commons” space. Science faculty offices, shared classrooms, and a lounge for informal learning and social activities complete the learning community at Beacon Hall.
The Nicholas Center – the campus student center featuring a bookstore, fitness center, student lounge, and the president’s office – has nearly doubled in size with a 25,500 SF addition that houses the college’s workforce development program. In addition to classroom spaces, the new William H. Talley, III Center for Workforce Development features a large, flexible lab that can be configured to meet the needs of a wide variety of training programs.
