The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio. This new larger facility, located in Cleveland’s Collinwood neighborhood, enables the Food Bank to increase its distribution of perishable food, including fresh produce and prepared meals, which makes up two-thirds of the meals the food bank distributes.

Located on an 18-acre parcel of land on Coit Road, the new building houses all intake, distribution, and production activities and is designed to satisfy both the Food Bank’s short-term needs and long-term growth. With 151,000 SF of warehouse space and 47,000 SF of office space, the new facility includes:

  • Additional space for dry food storage
  • Increased cold storage space for perishable items
  • A larger kitchen for meal preparation
  • Multiple docks and other areas for people and vendors to drop off food
  • Areas for volunteer projects
  • Community meeting space
  • Space for an increased fleet

In addition to IC’s CMR services, our Special Projects Group was responsible for the project’s general trades work, and Independence Excavating performed the sitework and utilities.
