This project consisted of a single-story distribution center and associated site improvements. The distribution center has insulated precast concrete panel exterior walls with an interior steel frame, a flat roof system sloping from the center ridge to the north and south parapets, and a 32’ interior clear height. A 10,000 SF office space includes a 500 SF training/meeting room, offices and open workstations, break rooms, restrooms, storage, and a computer room.
Located on a 64-acre site previously occupied by a wooded driving range between a golf course and wetlands, a large cut/fill operation was required to balance the site and provide room for the distribution center and associated tractor trailer/van areas covering it.
Independence Excavating removed and relocated approximately 220,000 CY of soils on site before construction could commence. To support mobilization of the tenant’s material handling systems, the team was able to go from a building pad to a dry building in less than 100 days, including concrete foundations, structural steel framing, precast wall installation, and roofing.
Additionally, our Special Projects Group was responsible for the project carpentry, drywall, and interior finishes.
Our team is ready to show you how being built different helps us build better for you.
