The purpose of this project is to consolidate the functions housed in the outdated Ayer and Crouse Halls into one building that supports 21st century teaching and learning spaces. In order to accomplish this, the 41,000 SF Ayer Hall was demolished, while the 48,000 SF Crouse Hall is being renovated and a 17,000 SF addition constructed.
The improved Crouse Hall will house labs, faculty and administrative offices, and modern general-purpose lecture halls and classrooms for the Departments of Geology and Physics.
Also included in the project are upgrades/
replacement of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and IT systems, as well as site/grade modifications to provide a pedestrian pathway connecting the different grades of the site.
Independence Construction coordinates the full scope from design, pre-construction, construction and commissioning on all our projects.
