This 130,000 SF building had received various partial renovations and interior refresh projects over its 50 years. The majority of the building’s HVAC system is a two pipe fan-coils, two-pipe unit ventilators and a limited air-handling system that is original. This project focused on replacement of that failing system with a central air handling unit and VAV boxes with a new duct distribution system. Interior ceilings and other finishes were replaced as necessary to accommodate the new piping and ductwork.
An enabling project was also completed as part of the project and consisted of installation of the telecommunication duct bank, relocation of an existing control air compressor, electrical modifications, selective demolition, and architectural and structural modifications.
